Reception – Year 8

Assessment & reporting

A richer record of achievement — recognised by senior schools at 11+ and 13+.

How it works

Measuring more than marks

The PSB is a programme of study that actively develops and tracks knowledge, skills and attitudes — giving a fuller, more honest record of a child than results alone.

  • Exit points at 11+ and 13+
  • Skills assessed and reported alongside academic progress
  • A shared language of achievement across the whole school

Rigour you can trust

Moderated, and recognised

What’s assessed

Knowledge, skills and attitudes — developed and evidenced across subjects, not bolted on.

How it’s moderated

Through annual subject meetings, teachers across PSB schools have the opportunity to moderate and advise one another — keeping standards consistent and rigorous.

Recognised by seniors

Most senior schools accept the PSB certificate at 11+/13+ alongside their own tests or ISEB papers. Our strong links with senior schools also provide valuable insight into the skills and attributes pupils need as they progress.
